I just feel like hugging my flowers ......

I am getting my work all together for the tinderbox group show thats opening on monday omg !
I am not sure how much space I will have so I am going to bring four pieces and see ....feeling a bit funny
it has definately affected my life drawing with every drawing looking like the model was in the womb ...or on an island :)
The cards are a 1970's double pack which I think are really cute with vivid colours and hand embroidered photographed backs....can you see the crazy man and woman bottles ? , no takers yet , another one of my letting go for selling objects !
I am enjoying the buzz of being back at the market altho nobody has much money , they dont mind spending a little bit here and there on fun or quirky things.
The man with the velour horse hat on is my friend mikey staunton ,he reckons he is going to retire soon , he has been selling potatoes ,carrots and parsnips since he was 14 years old at various markets .He is the king of our market in Galway and was crowned and paraded about in robes and all a few years ago he is a gas man as they say around here, (gas as in hilarious!!)
Oh B.T.W mikey is studying the form for cheltenham horse races :)
oh also, I watched little miss sunshine for about the 6th time last night with my 13 yr old daughter omg it is so so good ,if you havent seen it,do and if you have watch it again .

.....sigh ...its been a busy week , the parade takes a lot of ones energy around these parts(like it or not) but I am glad to report that the rainbow float came first in its section , I on the other hand am feeling frazzled with all there is to do here etc.etc... .....just get on with it jane.... screams my rational side :)
glad to say that a suprise of laura ferraras paintings landing into my home like a feather floating down out of the sky kinda lifted my mood somewhat .

I went to see alice , with the yellow part of the rainbow and my best friend and we all absolutely loved it !

glad to say that I will be a part of the second tinderbox group show .I am really looking forward to going up to Dublin for the opening, hanging of the work and meeting the rest of the collective for the first time :)

my market stall on saturday (featuring little duck egg blue top that I customised with a victorian collar (sold I am glad to report)
I have been away from my dear blog for too long .
It was my first day back to the market on saturday and that makes for a lot of extra work !
It went well and I feel this year I will be able to balance it all a little better ...studio time , preperation of market wares and such , oh and cycling , walking the dogs and home life too (really its no problem , shes says in a wobbly voice )
So many lovely things are happening at the moment I feel very lucky indeed .
Last friday an artist that I have huge admiration for , for her work, her industriousness,her vision,her support and her enthusiasm etc ...cendrine rovini , featured me on her blog hortus noctis as an artist she likes (I can tell you all , that it meant a lot to me ♡♡♡ )
I planted lots of bulbs yesterday to celebrate mothers day and the new moon....and to just to get on with it too !!
It was nice to meet an italian artist at the market who bought a little box set of the flower fairies books from me , she is doing a thesis on this area and this image by amelia jane murray is for her . (and of course you my lovely blog friends )

I am really enjoying lifedrawing classes ,there is no tuition , just a fantastic model ....I will miss it when it finishes soon .

I enjoyed my morning walk with my dogs, it was so bright and clear.... we climbed over many old stone walls and jumped on mossy cushions of ground,I love my dogs so much :)

I am also looking forward to mr .burtons this week but somehow you kinda know what its going to be like already ...brilliant of course....but is that all there is ?..........is that all there is my friends ?

...life drawing was good again yesterday after I recovered from banging my head when I turned around from sorting out my array of paper....you know trying to just be nonchalent and in control in front of all the other artists .....
I got this amazingly cheerful tablecloth today for only one euro which was a good job as until I get back to the market (mid march) money is pretty darn scarce :(
anyways due to the hard frost here , we had lots of white trees and yellow ground ,it was surreal ..........
believe me , where was my camera huh ? (at Lady Ga Ga concert with my eldest snibleton).....no photos of white trees growing out of yellow ground ,I will paint it tommorow .
Love Heidi...she got to go up to the mountains all summer and just hang out , oh ....my tulips and I are in love (cant you tell ??)

funny old week , started life-drawing its for six wednesdays ...two and a half hours with a 15 min break , it was lets say , challenging , but I am grateful for the oppurtunity as its virtually non existent here outside of a college setting.
Then I found a great flickr set of one of my absolute fave artists kiki smith ...its here if you are interested and here too
She makes me feel giddy and has acheived all the work I would love to do in this life :)...she is amazingly prolific.
Then to follow with this theme of looking outside of my world for once:)....I have posted a fave image I found in an old visual research notebook from college and its by the amazing clifton burt (he is so funny , the way he writes ..so cool)
One of his many projects is folkobject and I dare you not to be inspired♞

I was very sad to hear that kate had died in january and would have loved to be at her last performance which was at the royal albert hall in london. Listen to her and her sister singing it would lift you in your bleakest hour .
