I saw this sad and beautiful white marble republican statue on the way through a tiny village SHE in commemoration of all the local I.R.A men killed in action by crown forces during the war for independance in 1921
She so beautiful and bleak at the same time...haunting

oh....it is SO beautiful today and I feel so happy

I dont know (and I dont think I want to know why) but sometimes I feel I could burst with energy !
I am greatful for all the gifts this week has given me,so so many little tremours of manifestation...all down I feel, to the beautiful new moon of sunday last.
I had THE most fun day yesterday...in the tiny local library giving an illustrated reading of alice in wonderland ! it was for book week and the audience were 6 and 7yr olds they loved all the little props,my 100 year old alice books ,deers,miniture trees etc etc...... and drawings that I brought in and I really think they liked it when I screeched OFF WITH THEIR HEADS !!, I liked that bit too.
I enjoyed cycling this morning and walking my two very silly dogs.
I hope that you are all having some fun in this lovely betwixt time of autumn/winter...it feels so magicky ,huh ?

I am back ...(.some new very best finds,a brand new drawing and an old one too )

two early 1970's cardboard drinks mats...I LOVE the images.....I found these on the ground at my beloved Portobello market in London last week ...oh 20p the man said (20p for such beauties !)
oh...behind the round mats are two pieces of the old wallpaper I peeled of my parents bedroom wall as they are getting their room decorated and these really old bits were behind the radiator....LOVING the colours)
my favourite trader always has very random things to sell (a bit like me I guess) , but I always find something there that just has to come home . This is a tryptych of original Victorian photographs of the same model .I like her smile and she seems very much part of the action ,its very like poses that I would do.It is an important piece of inspiration to me.I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me .

Hello out there :) ....I am here again , back from outside over there .

I am sorting through all of my work,trying to decide what to keep but a lot I have to let go off.....
( ....its space I crave, to actually feel/see new images that are trying to come into my work......)
I like something in these images though and I SO love this front cover of a 1940's book ...its definately resonating with me.
Unearthing new from old is what my whole art seems to be about anyhow .

My new work is being made in my world but its not out of the closet yet....I am SO impatient :)
I am collecting , sorting ,making space and burrowing down to be present to it....these images (from work made in this last year of my fine art degree) seem to express my mood at this moment in time....(oh by the way ..I am planning to make a slideshow of my artists book ..the innerworld outside ,these two drawings above feature in it ...)
I am looking forward to visiting my family in England next week, it always helps my work .
